Rage against the Queens of The Cure January 30, 2008

I’ve probably mentionned before that I’m a musical omnivore. An example In march I’ll be attending the Queens Of The Stone Age concert in Antwerp and two weeks laters I’m off to Antwerp again for a concert by The Cure. In between these two concerts The Mars Volta will perform in Brussels and there’s a big chance you’ll find me there as well

And also 01.06.2008 might be a legendary day for me … That day one of my all time favourite bands Rage Against The Machine performs a reunion concert at the Dutch festival Pinkpop. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend the concert!!

How Intelligent is Artificial Intelligence? January 30, 2008

A few days ago Nova Spivack posted a blog on his website Minding the planet on artificial intelligence. Spivack is the CEO of Radar Networks and one of the founding fathers of the semantic application Twine.

Spivack claims humans are in need of artificial stupidity. He believes the term artificial intelligence isn’t correctly applied because AI won’t be able to perform intelligent tasks. Spivack says we presently waste too much time on tasks such as organizing our emails and documents, coordinating our schedules and filtering useful from irrelevant information. Artificial stupidity are systems which are good at performing these simple tasks while human beings can fulfill complex activities at higher cognition levels.

Just came across the Warholizer online. According to its own definition “the Warholizer tries to treat a picture even more the same way Andy Warhol might have treated it.”
