A few days ago Nova Spivack posted a blog on his website Minding the planet on artificial intelligence. Spivack is the CEO of Radar Networks and one of the founding fathers of the semantic application Twine.

Spivack claims humans are in need of artificial stupidity. He believes the term artificial intelligence isn’t correctly applied because AI won’t be able to perform intelligent tasks. Spivack says we presently waste too much time on tasks such as organizing our emails and documents, coordinating our schedules and filtering useful from irrelevant information. Artificial stupidity are systems which are good at performing these simple tasks while human beings can fulfill complex activities at higher cognition levels.
