The new schoolyear had its take off yesterday. First courses behind us, we ‘poor’ students realise the amount of work we’ll face this year… I’m signing up for a film course ‘audiovisual communication’ in which we should analyse the historical integrity of a film, and our team chose ‘Dr. Strangelove…’ from Kubrick. Hopefully it turns out as well as the film seminar I took last year! Furthermore this year we’re obliged to write our ‘master thesis’, and I’m still not sure which subject to select… It’s gonna be a loooong year

My Famous Family…;) May 15, 2007
I’m so proud of my stepdad… Werner namely made an appearance in ‘De Zevende Dag’ (The seventh day: a informational talkshow on sunday, on our public broadcaster VRT). He contributed to a panel discussion on YouTube and its importance (eg for a public broadcaster).
You can watch the show on Werner’s blog. Enjoy and congratulations to Werner
Oops, I did it again… May 15, 2007
… I waited so long to post a new blog entry. But a lot happend since my last entry. I’ve been to Finland two weeks ago, we had a wonderful time, but I was exhausted after this BLITZvisit (we were there for only three days, and we’ve seen ‘all’ of Helsinki and a small village outside Helsinki, Ekenas). Leen, our friend in Ekenas, is finishing an internship there. Three more weeks and then she’ll be heading to Belgium again. One of the most impressive monuments we’ve seen in Helsinki is definitely the Sibelius Monument, this huge copper landmark honours the national composer Jean Sibelius. If you pay a visit to Helsinki, this monument is a must to see! The Lutheran (Lutheran Cathedral Helsinki) and Russian Orthodox (Russian Orthodox Cathedral) Cathedrals in the centre of the city are also treats for the eye…
Here are some other pictures I took during the trip:
Shake, shake, shake… April 19, 2007
Haaidie people,
“What has she been up to?” you might be asking yourself after my absence for several weeks already. Well, I just had an Easter Break and schoolwork was put on a hold a bit because I reaaaally needed a holiday. Furthermore, we’ve (Evelyne: my partner in crime for our English course and I) fulfilled our mission to create an own website on Online Communities. You can check it out on: http://www.kuleuven.be/iccp/iccp01. It’s pretty basic, but to be honest: I’m proud of our accomplishment
.
And what’s on the agenda for the next weeks: studying, a blitz visit to Finland, exams, and tonight a cocktail party I’m organising to celebrate my birthday: Margerita, Pina Colada, Cuba Libre,… name it and I’ll shake it
I hope it will be fun!
Exams – Holiday – School – Movies February 18, 2007
It’s been a while… (jak, this sentence reminds me of a song by Staind, which I REALLY don’t like
but anyways….). The exames finally finished two weeks ago, and then I got sick. Typically me! I’m always sick in holidays. So, I’ve been in bed for almost a week and then school started again. Shitty? Yes, I know. That’s one of the reasons too why I didn’t blog on my latest adventures, because there simply weren’t any
Not much of excitement about fever!
Anyways, back to school, which means I’m in Leuven during the week, 500 metres away from the movies…. SOOOO, on monday I saw ‘The pursuit of happYness’. Verdict: corny, but entertaining movie with great acting by Will Smith and his son (his son in the film is by the way his actual son… weird). But TIP: bring handkershiefs, cause it’s sooo emo that you’ll be weeping 113 minutes long, well at least I was
Happy 2007! January 1, 2007
To all my readers
(haha, I finally got the chance to say that
): A happy Newyear! may it be a ‘kickass’ year for all of you… 2007, here we come!
Hello! November 20, 2006
Since a couple of years, blogging has become a real hype. Still I never had my own blog, partly because I did not think I had time for one, but the main reason was me being afraid of writing for a ‘public’. But now here it is: my own blog, online for the whole world to read my ‘adventures’. The hardest part will be to keep it up-to-date and to write in a fresh and enjoyable way for all my (thousands of…
) readers. Because, actually what does a 20-year old student really has to say that is of any importance to YOU? Not much probably, but I’m willing to give this a try and keep it as interesting as possible by writing little articles and opinions on films, music, events, festivals,….By blogging in English, I hope I will improve my English writing skills, so if anyone has any comments on my writings, feel free to tell me!
